Euthanasia

One of the sad and inventible consequences of Euthanasia is the decline in enthusiasm both privately and politically for high quality palliative care. One of the measures of Civilizations is how they care for their powerless. Bishop John appropriately takes the stick to our State Government for taking this sad path.  At the outset there'll be the usual "Oh no, we'll still fund palliative care" but what's happening is that ramping up of euthanasia weakens the cultural acceptability of high quality palliative care because inevitably in our cost conscious society people will begin to do the math.
