The electronic panopticon

One of the sobering aspects of Port Arthur is the Panopticon. It sounds a bit science-fictioney but the American Government has been capturing, storing and data mining everything we email or search for on the interwebs for the last five years. Here the American Government confirms it and here is an explanation.

Think about the amount of dirt that's been collected and massive potential for blackmail. No doubt there is a lot of stuff that should be exposed, there are probably also cold cases local police forces could solve with some of the data. There is also a Brazil like danger, that the information is clumsily misused. The upside of all is that this will hopefully motivate Christians away from searching for dodgy stuff on the net. The downside is that ministries like Engaging with Isalm, could be hindered.

Well, the era of "On the internet no one knows you're a dog" is well and truly over!
